Sawmill Creek Resort is a Resort 18-hole golf course in Huron, Ohio.
The Sawmill Creek Resort golf course opened in 1974. Tom Fazio designed the course.
Sawmill Creek Golf Club rests on the shores of Lake Erie. It is situated 45 minutes from both downtown Cleveland and Toledo. Sawmill Creek Golf Club was only the fourth course that Fazio had designed.
This early Fazio masterpiece is bordered by natural beauty on three sides. Sheldon's Marsh on the West, Lake Erie on the North, and Sawmill Creek on the East make this lushly landscaped course challenging for golfers of all abilities.
The two nines have distinctly different qualities. The front nine also called the "Creek Nine," gives the golfer a traditional northern feel, with Sawmill Creek meandering around four of the outward nine holes. The "Lake Nine," which serves as the back nine, gives the player a feeling like their visiting the Carolinas. Large, beautiful weeping willow trees protecting freshwater lakeside marshes will make the inward nine an experience you will remember.
Par for the course is 71. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,702 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,074 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 12, a par-5 that plays 568 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 5, a par-3 that plays to 158 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 4, a 425-yard par-4 challenge, and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Sawmill Creek Resort is # 14, a 412-yard par-4.

Course in great condition: fairways & greens excellent; of course a beautiful sunny afternoon (with virtually now wind, which is odd next to Lake Erie) made for very enjoyable round of golf with old friends from College. I got last-minute sale-priced T-time off of website, so I paid lowest possible cost, which as a Resort normally gets more than double (what I paid) in the prime of Summer. Excellent location ---with Cedar Point traffic nearby. Layout, especially with huge & fast greens make for very challenging golf. If I could duplicate that DAY/afternoon, I would want to play there every week; but the cost & no wind is rare occurance.
